Latest Blender Article Now Up!

Hi all! Packt Publishing and I have been very generous lately as to the content we're trying to publish.  Recently, we published another article related to the creation of a simple soda can, from modeling phases up to the finishing touches ready for your gallery needs.

So without further ado, here it is: Modeling, Shading, Texturing, Lighting, and Compositing a Soda Can in Blender 2.49

It is divided into two parts (which hopefully wouldn't bore you till death). ^_^

Good luck and have fun!

Testing Sculptris

Recently, I've seen a news feed from a Blender site describing a new free-to-test alpha version Sculpting application.  Doodling with it last night, it looks promising and very functional.  The realtime view of the mesh tesselation is so great and so far the speed of the application is one of the best yet (aside from the fact that Blender's new sculpting tools work great as well).

By the way, the application is called Sculptris by Tomas Petterson.

Blender's Undo History Unveiled?

As far as this post is concerned, I would be referring to Blender's 2.49 version, or probably earlier ones which has the same feature.  The other day, I accidentally came across a little nifty feature that's common among paint/image editors and or applications.  Enough rambling, it's the Undo History (as the title has already suggested) ^_^

I believe this could in fact save you a lot of time especially in your modeling phases.   Check the image below.
