Latest Blender Article Now Up!

Hi all! Packt Publishing and I have been very generous lately as to the content we're trying to publish.  Recently, we published another article related to the creation of a simple soda can, from modeling phases up to the finishing touches ready for your gallery needs.

So without further ado, here it is: Modeling, Shading, Texturing, Lighting, and Compositing a Soda Can in Blender 2.49

It is divided into two parts (which hopefully wouldn't bore you till death). ^_^

Good luck and have fun!

Excellent tut Reyn. I especially like the opening tip of starting with a cube instead of the instinctive cylinder. But I am wondering about the tiny scratches in the aluminum can's photo reference. Would brushed steel modifier work on that? I have never succeeded in using that modifier, could you please include that in the tut. Keep on sharing.

matangdilis: I'm not sure what the brushed steel modifier is as far as modifiers in Blender are concerned. Do you mean the texture though? ^_^

I spoke too soon, I'ts been a long time since I touched blender... It's not a modifier but tangent shading, ... sorry about that. I can follow this tutorial on brushed metal and even use this brushed aluminum material but I could never get those tiny nicks to appear.
